Do canned foods all contain preservatives? You might have misunderstood, and it needs to be corrected properly.
1. Do canned foods contain preservatives?
In daily life, when purchasing canned goods, you will find that their shelf life is generally one to three years. Therefore, it is easy to label canned foods as unhealthy. At the same time, it is believed that canned foods must contain a large amount of preservatives to ensure such a long shelf life. However, this is a misunderstanding of canned foods; in fact, a long shelf life does not equate to the addition of preservatives, and they can be consumed with confidence.
2. How are canned foods preserved?
In fact, most canned foods are additive-free, let alone the addition of preservatives. Only a few canned foods may contain preservatives within standard limits due to constraints in the production process, which are not harmful to the human body. Generally speaking, when making canned foods, the raw materials need to be pre-processed. Then, a series of procedures such as canning, exhausting, sealing, sterilizing, cooling, temperature maintenance inspection, and packaging are completed. This is the production process of canned foods, and it is this special production method that ensures the "additive-free" nature of canned foods.
